The danger, as I see it, is learning the hard way that your reputable site wasn't as reputable (or knowledgeable, careful and vigilant) as you thought. Everyday we see reports of “reputable” companies that are hacked/compromised. Also, I will often transfer a file from a trusted friend, by flash drive, to my computers.
